The local auberge has a fantastic menu and location is just 5 minutes by car. There
is a market almost every morning in one of the cities of the region;
Campuzan, Galan, Lannemezan, Castelnau and Trie, all within 10 minutes,
which are full of delicious local produce and wine every weekend during the summer, they take turns to hold antique markets.
The nearest town Trie, has a traditional village center with restaurants and a bakery. There are 4 golf courses nearby, the nearest Lannemezan including the first to be built in Europe, the majestic city of Pau. There is a spa Capvern-les-bains (25 min) and massage and reflexology Trie. It
is a center for outdoor high wire activity (40 minutes), a water park
in Castelnau-Magnoac (12 minutes drive) and right next to the cottages there is a
huge lake, which supports a bird sanctuary (label natura 2000). Every
year in July and August the historic town of Marciac jazz festival
welcomes and July the Tour de France moves through the Hautes Pyrenees. Spain and tapas are an hour, Biarritz is well worth the 2 hour walk and mountain scenery are fantastic.
